WHERE IS THE BEST AREA TO STAY IN THE HUNTER VALLEY?

The heart of the Hunter Valley wine country is Pokolbin, which offers the closest proximity to the region’s premier cellar doors, restaurants, and attractions. Clayfields Hunter Valley is perfectly positioned on Old North Road in Pokolbin, situated behind private security gates on a secluded 30-acre property. Our location combines total rural privacy with the convenience of being just minutes away from top wineries, on the famous Around Hermitage Trail.

WHAT IS THE CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES?

  • Check-in: From 2:00 PM onwards via secure lockbox/keypad access.

  • Check-out: By 10:30 AM on the day of your departure.

IS THERE DOG FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION IN POKOLBIN IN THE HUNTER VALLEY?

Yes. Villa Two (The Valley View King Villa) at Clayfields Hunter Valley is fully pet-friendly. We welcome one well-behaved dog per stay with prior approval. To protect our resident native wildlife and working apiaries, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when exploring the estate grounds outside of your private villa deck.

Both of our adults-only villas at Clayfields Hunter Valley offer close to 150sqm of premium indoor and outdoor living space. Luxury inclusions feature:

  • An indoor freestanding spa bath and multi-jet Shower Temple.

  • A magnificent dual-sided, wood-burning fireplace.

  • Individually controlled underfloor bathroom heating and full reverse-cycle air conditioning.

  • Complimentary high-speed, commercial-grade Starlink Wi-Fi.

  • A fully equiped kitchen with full oven, cooktop and microwave.  

  • Large flat screen smart TV's in both the living and bedrooms. 

  • Complimentary luxury bathroom amenities. 

DO THE VILLAS INCLUDE BREAKFAST AT CLAYFIELDS HUNTER VALLEY?

Yes. Every reservation includes a complimentary gourmet country breakfast hamper packed with fresh, local ingredients delivered to your villa for your stay. The well-equipped kitchen is also stocked with a premium beverage station featuring a selection of fine teas, hot chocolate, a coffee pod machine, and homemade biscuits.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VILLAS ONE AND TWO AT CLAYFIELDS HUNTER VALLEY?

While both villas feature identical 150sqm open-plan layouts, premium linens, luxury bathrooms, and indoor/outdoor living spaces, they each offer unique interior styling and settings:

  • Villa One (The Lakeview King Villa): Accessed via a flight of stairs that grants its elevated position, capturing views directly across the estate's private lake and field.

  • Villa Two (The Valley View King Villa): Set on ground level, immersed in the valley with views over open paddocks. This villa is our pet-friendly option and features a traditional outdoor wood-burning pizza oven on the deck.

IS THERE PARKING ONSITE?

Yes. Each villa features its own secure, undercover carport parking located directly adjacent to the accommodation. The property is accessed via private security gates and sits over half a kilometer back from the street for absolute peace of mind.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

To secure a reservation, a 50% deposit is payable at the time of booking, with the remaining balance processed 7 days prior to arrival.

  • Free cancellation is available up to 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival forfeit the 50% deposit.

  • Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival, or no-shows, will be charged 100% of the entire booking amount.

CAN WE BUY LOCAL HONEY ON THE ESTATE? 

Yes. Clayfields Hunter Valley is a working property and the proud home of Clayfields Artisan Honey. Our active apiaries are scattered throughout the estate, where our bees forage on native botanicals and old-growth Ironbark blossoms. Guests will find a complimentary jar to sample in their villa upon arrival, and extra jars are available to purchase as souvenirs during your stay.
